Our products are strictly produced according to the requirements as described in the HACCP, furthermore, we fully automated our production process in order to avoid any unwanted bacteria. One of the more import requirements is the traceability of products. We invested a great deal in the perfection of traceability, at the present day we are capable of controlling the product from start to end to guarantee outstanding quality and taste.

Employees are required to dress fully according to our dress-code, and so are visitors, when they enter, separated by locks, the production departments. Visitors may only enter this production department when accompanied by a guide, this is another demand of the HACCP and we make no exceptions.

Where does the salmon come from?

The Atlantic Salmon we use for our product come from the Norwegian fjords, the farmers operate among natural and optimal circumstances; which means that thanks to the advanced technological possibilities, farming salmon is creating a natural place where they are 'like a fish in the water'.

The production process

The salmon destined for "de Viking" are delivered by the best farms only; they are located where the original source of the 'wild' salmon is based, in the Norwegian fjords. Each salmon we check by hand in order to ensure perfect quality, it is our rejection process that differentiates us.

Note that we do not produce injected salmon in any form; all salmon are manually salted and smoked. Our great production skills and years of experience shape the base for the finest salmon products.

When the smoking process is completed the fish is quickly cooled to zero degrees Celsius. Then it is transformed into final products according to the demands of our clients and automatically packed in a vacuum atmosphere or modified atmosphere packaging.

The final step, the delivery of the product, is done by temperature- and time controlled transport, through our connections with high performance transport organizations we can guarantee quick and precise delivery, conform agreement.
